Been a long time, but I got a lot to say this time....
Top 10 Current Dislikes....feel free to comment, cuz this iz just my perspective...
1. Clemson....will probably and always top my list as long as I still have a heartbeat or a breath....just hope my kids don't ever utter the words, "I wanna go to Clemson", if so, they're getting put out ,lol. If you're not planting stuff, raising cattle, or becoming an engineer, what are you really going up there for? I mean, I'm just saying lol.
2. Current music that is being classified as "Rap" - Alright, all these artist that come out w/ these dance songs, catchy songs that say things "I wanna do to you" are not rap, are not hip-hop. Don't put this crap in that category. I'm pissed at legends who become record execs, who sell out and put their name on the line w/ this crap. "Elroy U", "Booty Do" and other minstrel-like songs are a joke. If you take a peak at the Billboard Top 100 Albums, you will RARELY find these artists. I've worked in a store that sold CDs and these things don't move. Selling ringtones pays the bills while selling albums lays the foundation for a career. Take notes young black men, don't spend all that money or the economy will kick you in the ass like the rest of us.
3. People who oppose health care reform, but have no clue what they are against - I know all ppl who oppose health care reform is not racist, and is always Republican. But when I hear ppl saying, "He's taking away our children's future", that's where we draw the line. How in flying f*ck is Obama taking away your child's future?? By trying to grant family's an ease to their pockets, by giving them a chance to allow their children to enjoy a healthy life like financially stable families can. That's taking away your child's future. I could babble for days about this, but it will literally last for days, because I could lecture anyone whose willing on this issue lol.
4. Women who say they can't find a good man - Oh yes, I said it, and I mean it. You can't find a good man you say. Hmmmm, ever tried looking in your "circle". Ever thought about that guy that always makes you laugh and never gave you a reason not to trust him. Has that ever crossed your mind? Why go for the guy that pleases you visually, but comes up short emotionally? Why let a man please you physically, when he can't commit to spending an afternoon with you let alone being your boyfriend? Good men are out here, they are NOT PERFECT. No man is perfect. Throw away those lists, erase the perception of a man sweeping you off your feet. A man can sweep you off your feet, but many women are prone to be along for the ride but yet feel disappointed when he didn't spoil you every other minute. Men are very apprehensive in this day in age. We are not trying to treat a women like a queen until she shows us that her roster has dwindled down to ME and ME only. And yes, we know you have rosters. You can't fool ya boy, Izzo.
5. BET or as Phonte calls it, Black Embarrassment Television - The black bootlegged version of VH1/MTV (and yes I now they're all under the parent company, Viacom) looks real bad. Their award show looked like the Source Awards compared to the MTV's VMAs. Reality shows all over the place. Some are ok, but some leave you thinking, "Why the hell did I let them n*ggas sucker me again to watch this sh*t?" Other than for 106 and Park, when do they show videos? All their true R&B music has been pushed to BET J, a network that many do not have or have to pay extra for. A great diary entry iz on the web disclosing how bad it really iz inside of BET. It was written by the former head of HipHopDx.com, who recently was let go as President of bet.com (evil leader, manager, director....don't know the actual position name, but he was head honcho lol). He discloses the alliances, friendships, and favors that rules the company. Hence, while you see that same ish over and over on BET. I personally won't be watching anymore, someone shoot me a text when they bring Video Soul, Planet Groove or Rap City back.....
6. Current state of Young Black Men - Anyone ever heard the song, "To Be Young, Gifted and Black" by Donny Hathaway? If not, take a listen....it will inspire you to do better. I know a lot of black males are doing a lot of positive things out there and I'm very proud of this fact. But, as I make my way through grocery stores, malls, or just through my neighborhood there is something missing. The art of communication from these young men. I always though when you are spoken to, you are to speak back. These young fools will look at you as if you're crazy to speak to them. They will walk in bunches and look at you crazy when you don't move off the sidewalk for them to walk by. But it is not always their fault for the fatal flaws. When I see a young black male disrespect a young black female and condone it, he's already being classically conditioned to be a jackass for a long time. Women can break the cycles on this foolishness. The power is in their hands. All they want is to be noticed by a woman. Pay attention to young men or men that respect you and ignore the fool that calls you out of your name, a lot of these problems will be eradicated.
7. South Carolina, not the ppl but the old ways - I love my state. I love they country accents, low-country accents, they ghetto/country (no disrespect, I said I loved it) accents I hear from the upstate women. I love it all even though a like an accent for most part. I even love the ppl. But, I'll be damn if I were to live in Iowa and the only thing about SC I'm aware of is shown on CNN, I'd never want to step foot inside of this state. We have old ways that need to be done with. Blue laws? Umm...why can't I buy general merchandise after 12am on Sunday morning until noon in Lexington County. If I lived on Lake Murray, spilled wine on my pillows at 2am(ahhh yes, foreplay lol), I wouldn't be able to enjoy a night w/ my head on a pillow because it's against the rules for me to go purchase one. How f'n stupid? Oh let's not forget Argentinian ambassador Mark Sanford, my beloved congressman Joe Wilson, and the Confederate flag. Oh yes, and let's not leave out school districts being taken over by the federal gov't because they cannot pass minimum requirements made by the Dep't of Education. Oh and don't forget to leave out how our state troopers are under preliminary investigation by the gov't for their treatment of minorities. Nothing can be finer than living in Carolina!!!!
8. Skinny Jeans for MEN! - What makes a man want to put on jeans that were initially designed for a woman???? Big feet, skinny jeans don't mix. Heterosexual man, skinny jeans don't mix. Maybe I'm old school but jeans being that tight have never been in style. Just because your favorite rapper rocks them, doesn't mean you have to fulfill your "Mancrush" by purchasing sum "skinnies" lol. I don't need to elaborate any further.
9. People who ball out, but yet can't fill their refrigerator or pay their utilities - Oh yes, if you have been known to spend $50+ at the bar, buy clothes that are "in", or buy fake Jordans, you may friend need to evaluate the value of that dolla dolla bill. I enjoy the fun of gettin' right before I get to the club. I personally like to find the deal when I go shopping, BOGO (buy one get one, free), 2 fors, and clearance. And I'm one of the few that hasn't owned a pair of J's cuz I can't picture spending that much on a shoe. But if you got that discount, I aint mad at you, and hook ya boi up! lol...but on the real, there is nothing sadder than having no food or drink at the crib, but got that fresh Lacoste or Ed Hardy in the closet. That doesn't add up homie.
10. FAKE THUGS!!!!! - I will keep this very simple. If you live in any suburb, you are not a thug. If you have insurance, you not a thug. If the closest you've been to a drug was a CVS, you not a thug....I guess you all get the point. Thugs work in Washington and take money from companies as "gifts" and pimp you for your vote every 2, 4 or 6 years. Take note, thugs don't prosper, they always get outed in the end. Watch the ending of American Gangster, New Jack City, and Scarface and take notes you insecure bastard.
THANKS FOR LISTENING....I'm here all week ;)
I know this really doesn't have much to do with what I'm saying, but I just have to let some real music be heard....
